Robin Alexander Sporting Trial 2026 Event Report
Bricknell and Beveridge Lead the Way
Thomas Bricknell and Andy Beveridge produced the standout performance of the event, guiding their Crosslé to victory with a score of 33. Their challenge was built on an exceptional opening half of the trial, recording just 11 marks after three rounds, before maintaining their advantage through the final two rounds to secure a deserved overall win.
Second place went to John Fack and Duncan Stephens in their MSR on 52, while Peter Fensom and Liz Fensom completed the overall podium with 60 in their Hamilton.
Red Class Provides the Closest Battle
The Red Class was packed with quality and produced much of the day's most competitive action.
While Bricknell and Beveridge secured the class victory, the fight for the remaining podium places remained open throughout the trial. John Fack and Duncan Stephens stayed firmly in contention all day to secure second in class, while Peter Fensom and Liz Fensom claimed third after a particularly strong middle section of the event.
Just behind them, Andy Wilks and Mark Smith finished on 65, narrowly ahead of Alan Murton and Gill Murton on 68, in another reminder of how little separated many of the leading crews.
Strong Competition in Blue Class
The Blue Class honours went to Alan Baker and Stewart Stamp, whose Apex finished on 83 marks lost. Their consistency across all five rounds enabled them to establish a useful advantage over the chasing crews.
Second place in class went to Jason Daniel and Bernie Muir on 86, while Stewart Stamp and Susie Stamp completed the Blue Class podium with 88.
Further back, Graham Wilson and Kayden Johnston battled hard throughout the day to bring their Sherpa home on 134.
Conclusion
The Robin Alexander Trial provided a fitting test of both machinery and crews, with five rounds of competition rewarding consistency, concentration and adaptability. In the end, Thomas Bricknell and Andy Beveridge proved the class of the field, securing victory with a commanding performance in their Crosslé.
Behind them, closely contested battles played out throughout the Red and Blue classes, ensuring there was competition at every level of the results. Congratulations go to all competitors, marshals and organisers for delivering another excellent day of sporting trials competition.
